Former Fakenham Town manager Neil Jarvis has opted for a fresh start by becoming higher-level Wroxham's assistant.

Ghosts stalwart Jarvis, who has undertaken a host of roles during a long-serving spell at Clipbush Park, most recently as first-team boss, resigned in September following a torrid start to the Thurlow Nunn League Premier Division campaign. He replaces Cedric Anselin as Stewart Larter's right-hand man following the Frenchman's decision to leave Trafford Park.

A statement from the Yachtsmen, who play one tier above Fakenham, said: 'Neil brings a great knowledge of the game and has a proven record by getting Fakenham promoted and then keeping them in the Thurlow Nunn Premier Division (both achieved mainly as Wayne Anderson's assistant).

'Neil has also managed and developed young players to become established first team regulars at senior level, which can only be good for our current set-up, and can't wait to get started. His sons Ryan and Rossi both play for Lowestoft Town in National League North but the Ryman League North will be a new challenge for Neil.'

Fakenham opted for continuity in May by handing Jarvis the first-team manager's position – with current player-boss Robbie Harris as his right-hand man. The pair successfully guided the Ghosts through to the end of the last campaign after Anderson departed to take charge of Dereham Town Reserves.

Jarvis first joined Fakenham as a player in 1986. Following a successful career he became reserve team manager and in 2000 was installed as first-team boss. After two successful seasons he took a break from football before returning, initially, as under-18 boss and first team coach.
