A chippy on the Norfolk coast has been shortlisted for a major national award.
French’s Fish Shop in Wells is one of 40 businesses in the running to be named 'Takeaway of the Year' at the National Fish & Chip Awards 2025.
The next round will see the judges chop the list down to 20 and then to the final 10.

Organised by the National Federation of Fish Friers (NFFF), the awards provide an opportunity for fish and chip outlets across the UK to show the industry exactly what they are made of.
The ceremony will take place on February 26 2025 at the Park Plaza Westminster Bridge hotel in London and there are various categories.

French’s is a family-owned fish and chip shop located along Wells Quay and it was founded in 1921.
The business won the Quality Accreditation Champion category at the National Fish and Chip Awards 2024.
Andrew Crook, president of the NFFF, said: "Fish and chips is such an iconic British staple and it takes huge amounts of skill and hard work to not only perfect the dish and other menu offerings but to also overcome challenges and sustain the business while keeping employees motivated and fulfilled."
