Parkinson’s UK’s Cromer Cuppa and Chat group has urgently called for volunteers to avoid closure.

For more than 20 years, the group has offered regular meetups for Parkinson's-affected people, providing peer support and friendship.

The group's attendance now hangs in the balance unless a volunteer comes forward to help.

Volunteers' roles are flexible, but their impact on the lives of Parkinson’s-affected people is significant.

Volunteers offer a welcoming face, a cup of tea, and event involvement.

The group also welcomes new Parkinson's-affected members, whether they live with the condition or are carers or loved ones.

Local volunteering officer at Parkinson’s UK, Lisa Lowe, said: “Opportunities provided through local groups are a lifeline for people in the local area who are living with Parkinson’s, especially in rural Norfolk.

"Unless new volunteers step forward, people could be left without the support they need.

“If you can spare two hours a month we’d love to welcome you to volunteer - because with your support you can make a big difference to people living with Parkinson’s in your local community."

Parkinson's affects about 153,000 UK residents, with 405 in North Norfolk.
