The main road through Norfolk's "bottleneck village" will close again in May.
Norwich Road and High Street in Coltishall will close to traffic between May 13 and May 17.
A Norfolk County Council spokesman said that the plywood decks on the village's footbridge have reached the end of their lifespan and must be replaced with an alternative.
Each week, almost 10,000 vehicles pass through the small village and over its small humpback bridge to get to and from Norwich.
During the closure, drivers are being asked to follow the official diversion out to the Aylsham bypass and back through North Walsham to rejoin the B1150.
A spokesman for the council said: "The diversion route had to be on to the same class of road or higher - so the B1150, B1145, A140 and A1026.
"This is so the larger numbers of traffic and bigger HGVs use more suitable roads that can take the increase and weight of traffic."
It is the second time the bridge will close this year after three days of Anglian Water works took place in February.
