Norfolk's Rapid-play Chess Championship 2024 wrapped up with joint winners.
Organised by the Norfolk County Chess Association (NCCA), the event took place at Hevingham Village Hall.
A total of 58 players battled it out over six rounds, where they were given 20 minutes to complete all their moves. .
Alan Merry and Jaden Jermy emerged victorious.
Both winners scored an impressive five out of six in the championship section.
Other successes included Michael Harris who secured third place in the championship section.
Dan Joal Allwin of the Norwich Juniors took victory in the Challengers section with a score of 5.5 out of six. He also took home the Peter Burnett Cup, awarded to the highest placed Norfolk player.
Steve Moore took home the U2000 Rating prize, whilst Larysa Klepikovska clinched the U1450 Rating Section with five out of six.
The NCCA hosts several chess competitions through the year.
