Sheringham dancers in new The Black Keys music video

Maisie Giugno-Hooker, aged 16, Sinead Watson, 17, and Elektra Reed, 18, from Sheringham's TW Performing Arts (TWPA), were all selected to be in the American rock duo's latest music video, which was released this week.

In the video, the trio from the Cromer Road-based studio are seen dancing in London's Trafalgar Square.

Tom Withington, TWPA director, said: “This shows that with the right training and connections to the professional dance and music industry our young people from north Norfolk can compete with the best and aspire to be professional dancers.

"Elite training combined with opportunities like this and others at TWPA inspire our students and help them aspire to be the best they can be.

"We are hugely proud of what our students are achieving professionally and in the studio."

Locally, 18 TWPA students were part of the cast performing in Sheringham Little Theatre's Cinderella. 

Dancers have also successfully auditioned for Rambert, the Place-London Contemporary School Addict Dance Academy, Urdang, Performers Creative and the Royal Ballet associates, along with the DanceEast Centre for Advanced Training (CAT).

Bethany Pratt, a teacher at TWPA, said: “At the core of TWPA is creativity and our Tiddlies start with creative classes and this follows through all year groups.

"Being confident to be creative and improvise was important for the girls who were selected by the Black Keys."

Lessons at TWPA are for ages three to 19 years old and include all dance styles, fitness and conditioning.
