At least a dozen kayaks have been stolen from Blakeney Quay in north Norfolk.

Sometime between the evening of Friday, October 6 and the morning of Sunday, October 8, thieves used bolt cutters to cut lose and steal at least 12 kayaks from Blakeney Dingy Park in Carnser Car Park on Quayside.

Norfolk Police are still investigating the exact number of kayaks stolen, and are appealing for witnesses and information.

Dr Victoria Holliday, vice-chair of North Norfolk District Council (NNDC) and councillor for Coastal ward, said she was “shocked” to hear of the theft and expressed her sympathy for those who had kayaks stolen.

“I was shocked to hear about this theft, and I am very sorry for those whose kayaks were stolen,” she said.

“It’s not what you expect to happen on Blakeney Dinghy Park.”

Police have called for anyone who was in the area over the weekend who saw anything suspicious to contact Sergeant Graham Gower-Smith on 101 or email graham.gower-smith@norfolk.police.uk quoting 36/72421/23.
