The streets of Sheringham were filled with people collecting money for the town’s lifeboat station as part of the RNLI’s annual Flag Day.
Volunteers raised £2,181.62 on the day and one person handed over a bag of coins with more than £70 inside.
Brian Farrow, Sheringham RNLI lifeboat operations manager, said: "We are greatly touched by the kindness and support we continue to receive from our fantastic community.
“To break our record for Flag Day collections at Sheringham during the current financial climate and on such a rainy day is truly heartwarming. Thank you all.”
RNLI mascot Stormy Stan was also out and about on the day bringing lots of smiles to the faces of children and adults alike.
This year’s Sheringham Lifeboat Day is on August 13, 10am-12pm.
There will be Lifeboat and Coastguard demonstrations, a raffle, refreshments, stalls, games and a free performance by the Sheringham Shantymen at 1pm.
The annual Lifeboat service will be held at the station at 3pm with the Sheringham Salvation Army band.
