Timber fencing rails and a brick wall have been damaged at a closed English Heritage site in north Norfolk.
Norfolk Police said the damage was done at Baconsthorpe Castle near Holt some time between March 3 (last Friday afternoon) and the morning of March 5.
North Norfolk Police said: "Anyone with information is asked to contact PC David Greenwood on 101, quoting ref 36/17495/23."
Access to the remains of the 15th Century moated manor house was closed in July last year, after concerns were raised over the fragile state of its gatehouse.
English Heritage said it was impossible to say when the site could be reopened, it could "take some time".
